A-Trend-From-An-Bygone-Era

Statement sleeves have made a comeback this season and who better than our fashionistas who showcase this trend. Deepika Padukone One of the best examples of puffed sleeves are the ones you see princesses wearing in fairytales. Voluminous sleeves are a favourite among anyone who loves the 80s and all things vintage. A trend from an bygone era, puff sleeves are all the rage this season.Giving us a brief description of how a puff sleeve looks, designer Reshma Kunhi shares, “Puff sleeves are usually sleeves which are gathered on top as well as bottom. It gives a illusion of a broader shoulder. You can choose from a variety of them. From leg of mutton (fuller at the top) to peasant (puffed only at the arm), melon and bishop (where it is gathered down).”Telling us the best way to style this elaborate trend, she suggests, “Puff sleeves can be styled in many ways. Since you have the drama on top, keep the rest of your look fitted so that you don’t look like a balloon. For the office, you can wear puffed sleeve shirt with either pants or skirts.
The best way to style this is by going the indo-western way. Wear a saree draped over a fitted pant and a one shoulder dramatic puff sleeve blouse to go with it.” She advices that one should consider the body shape before trying these sleeves. She shares, “Women who are slender can experiment with leg of mutton or full puff sleeves styles which gives a illusion of broader shoulder Lycra Fabric and heavier arms. But if you have got broad shoulders, bishop sleeves is your best choice.”Avoid a complete fashion faux pas by following a few do’s and dont’s. She says, “You need to be very careful while sporting this trend. wrong fabric equals disaster. Choose the fabric carefully and follow a simple rule. Heavy outfits should go with flowy and soft fabric like chiffon, georgette, crepe etc. For ligher fabrics one can go for crisp fabric like organza, silk, stiff cotton etc.”Reshma suggests that since there is so much drama already keep the jewellery to a minimum. “Or, you can just skip the sparkle and just go with a fancy clutch,” she concludes. end-of Tags: fashion and style, designer reshma kunhi.

Janardhan-Took-Off-On-His-Bicycle

GREY. It is a thrill for me to understand that I have covered as much distance between the earth and the moon on a bicycle. He advises, “I was not the fittest person during my youth. In fact, I make sure I complete at least 53 km in a day. But I wasn’t used to sitting at home since I have led an active life.”Janardan hopes to inspire youngsters in their twenties to take up running.”end-of. If I can be healthy, anybody can.For Janardan, running is a chance to relive his childhood.”When Janardan isn’t running, he is busy cycling and trekking across the Himalayas. What is more, it was after being diagnosed with epilepsy that Janardan’s life changed, for the better. There were so many things that I didn’t do as a teenager. Janardhan took off on his bicycle without telling his family. “My wife had a problem with me when I decided to go off medicines. I called my family to let them know I was safe. But unperturbed with all the attention, the 83-year-old marathon runner went about the IDBI Federal Life Insurance Mumbai Half Marathon last week in Mumbai in typical style and finished the race in under three hours. “I am quite happy with my timing,” says the oldest runner in the race. I never felt as healthy as I did when I cycled. “It was a route that I am familiar with since I have previously participated in marathons here,” he says, thrilled with his new personal record. Which means he needs to clock in another 11,000 km.
Janardan is now on a mission to cycle the distance equivalent to that between the earth and the moon —3;84,400 km.AGE CORRESPONDENT Published: Aug 28, 2016, 10:41 pm IST Updated: Aug 28, 2016, 10:41 pm IST All eyes were fixed on Bylahalli Raghunath Janardan as he made his way to the track that Sunday morning.jpgAll eyes were fixed on Bylahalli Raghunath Janardan as he made his way to the track that Sunday morning.”There was resistance to this radical move. He says, “Even if it is something like a wedding function, I always travel on my bicycle. I feel like I am reliving and doing things that I didn’t attempt during my childhood days. Getting fit should be in everybody’s priority list,” he advises. He says, “I cycled for 40 km. But soon she realised how determined I was,” he recalls, chuckling. He says, “I cycle around 1,900 km a month. I stopped taking the prescription medicines too. The octogenarian plans to run a marathon each month till February next year. Now I realise how important it is to take care of oneself. The retired railway officer was on medication and was advised complete rest. So I should be able to complete the target in the next six months. This helped me, and soon, I was doing things the way I did before I was diagnosed with the illness. He recalls, “After being diagnosed, I wasn’t allowed to step out of the house.”The New Year’s Day of 1997 proved to be a fresh start for Janardan after he decided to take matters into his own hands. Every other day she would either puncture the tyres or break the valve tubes. He recalls, “When I was young, I wasn’t that active and didn’t even know what a marathon was.Today, he cycles across China Electric folding bike Bengaluru when his family travels by car.

2 per cent share in China in 2017 and 1.South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Group predicted on Wednesday another year of tepid car sales growth in 2019 on the back of a slow 2018, saying trade protectionism adds uncertainty and major markets such as the United States and China remained sluggish. The Norwegian Electric Vehicle Association (NEVA), a lobby group, predicted a 100 per cent market share was feasible.8 per cent in 2018 to 147,929 vehicles, breaking a rising trend in recent years, NRF data showed.2 per cent of all sales last year, from 20.3 million population. The independent Norwegian Road Federation (NRF) said on Wednesday that electric cars rose to 31.2 percent of all sales last year.Erik Andresen, head of Norway’s car importers’ federation, said the boom for electric cars was denting Norway’s tax revenues, raising questions about future reforms to raise cash from the 5.5 per cent in 2013, while sales of petrol and diesel cars plunged.“It was a small step closer to the 2025 goal,” by which time Norway’s parliament wants all new cars to be emissions-free, Oeyvind Solberg Thorsen, head of the NRF, told a conference.. (The Local Norway) Almost a third of new cars sold in Norway last year was pure electric, a new world record as the country strives to end sales of fossil-fueled vehicles by 2025.In a bid to cut carbon emissions and air pollution,.
Norway exempts battery-driven cars from most taxes and offers benefits such as free parking and charging points to hasten a shift from diesel and petrol engines.“We may be able to get to a 75 per cent (market share), provided that the tax breaks are maintained,” he added. The sales figures consolidate Norway’s global lead in electric car sales per capita, part of an attempt by Western Europe’s biggest producer of oil and gas to transform into a greener economyThe independent Norwegian Road Federation (NRF) said on Wednesday that electric cars rose to 31.The International Energy Agency (IEA), using a slightly different yardstick for electric vehicles that includes hybrids that can be plugged in, showed Norway’s share of such cars at 39 per cent in 2017, far ahead of China wholesale Pedal assist electric scooter second-placed Iceland on 12 per cent and Sweden on six per cent.. and there’s also a risk that not enough cars become available,” NEVA head Christina Bu said, adding that some customers must wait for a year or more before their electric vehicle is delivered.By contrast, such electric cars had a 2.The Institute of Transport Economics (ITE), a consultancy, doubted that the 2025 goal for emissions-free new cars could be reached.Sales of pure electric cars surged 40 per cent to 46,092 in 2018 while sales of diesel models fell 28 per cent, petrol cars were down 17 per cent and hybrids that cannot be plugged in fell 20 per cent.8 per cent in 2017 and just 5.2 per cent in the United States, IEA data show.“Strictly speaking I don’t think it’s possible, primarily because too many people don’t have a private parking space and won’t want to buy a plug-in car if they can’t establish a charging point at home,” ITE economist Lasse Fridstroem said.Overall, new car sales in Norway fell 6.Still, he cautioned that there was a long way to go since two-thirds of almost 148,000 cars sold in 2018 in Norway were powered by fossil fuel or were hybrids, which have both battery power and an internal combustion engine.“We know that charging access is a real barrier . The sales figures consolidate Norway’s global lead in electric car sales per capita.Nissan’s upgraded Leaf electric car was the top-selling car in Norway last year, while other top-selling cars overall ranged from small BMWs and Volkswagens to full-size sedans and electric sport utility vehicles by Tesla.(Source) end-of Tags: electric car, norway.

Socket-As-trivial-as-this-sounds

Alloy Wheels (Petrol Only) The petrol Tigor gets a set of larger 15-inch alloys wrapped in 175/60 section rubber.2 lakh - Rs 6. 3. The unit is identical to what we&Lycra Fabric39;ve seen in the Bolt and the Zest, and has its own suite of apps as well! 7. Manual temperature and fan-speed control knobs have been ditched in favour of a climate control interface. 4. What's different?Tata's upcoming sub-4 metre sedan, the Tigor is already all over the news. # The sub-4 metre sedan is based on the same platform, has the same engines and shares most of its interior with the hatchback. The cherry on the cake are the integrated cupholders, which take the total utility space count to 24 against the Tiago's 22. Boot SpaceThis does seem like a no-brainer, but the sheer amount of boot space the Tigor packs deserves a special mention. The Tiago, in comparison, features smaller cushions, which eventually end up at neck level if you are any taller than 5'6".THE ASIAN AGE Published: Mar 29, 2017, 4:46 pm IST Updated: Mar 29, 2017, 4:46 pm IST Tata's upcoming sub-4 metre sedan, the Tigor is already all over the news. 5. The Tiago gets 175/65R14 tyres with 14-inch alloy wheels. Automatic Climate Control Upping the convenience quotient is automatic air-conditioning. Also, note how the indicators on the sedan have been moved towards the base of the headlamps as compared to the edge on the Tiago. Fabric Inserts On The Door PadsHere's a great example of attention to detail. Let's compare the images of both the cars and figure out. The Tigor is based on the same design language but gets slightly rounded hexagons which look more like the ones on Tata's flagship - the Hexa. 4. 5. 2. This is most evident when you view it from the side, as the extra 50mm of wheelbase is almost immediately noticeable thanks to the larger rear doors. Repositioned AntennaWhile the Tiago gets a large RC car-like antenna near the front windscreen, the Tigor gets a better-looking stubby one. Tata has even ditched the gooseneck boot hinges in favour of pneumatic struts that don't intrude into boot space. 6. The socket is placed right next to the handbrake, in front of a deep cubby hole you can use to park your phone in. Larger Rear Door Unlike most other compact sedans that just get a slap-on boot, the Tigor makes a conscious effort to be bigger than the hatch it is based on. Pretty cool, eh? The Not So Obvious1. The contact points on the door pad, such as the elbow rest and the fore-arm rest, get fabric inserts. Grille Detailing In tune with Tata's "Impact" design philosophy, the Tiago is peppered with a lot of hexagonal detailing.com end-of Tags: tata motors, tata tigor, tata tiago.Source: ZigWheels. So, does it stand apart from the Tiago? Let's compare the images of both the cars and figure out.
The Obvious 1. Updated Fabric Upholstery Detailing Just like the front grille that differs ever-so-slightly compared to the Tiago, the seat covers feature different detailing as well. Rear Armrest with cupholders To keep the rear occupant a tad more comfortable, the Tigor features a wide central armrest.5 lakh. Compared to the utterly usable 240-litre boot of the Tiago, it gets a much, much larger 419-litre boot. Extra 12V SocketAs trivial as this sounds, the Tigor gets an additional 12V socket for the rear passengers. 3. Larger Rear headrests The Tigor not only gets larger rear headrests but also features a small neck rest for the middle occupant. Although it is based on the popular hatchback, the Tiago, Tata has put in extra efforts to distinguish it from the hatch. The antenna is also placed at the rear now. Tata will launch the car on March 29, and we expect prices to be in the vicinity of Rs 4. HeadlampsWhile the Tiago gets a halogen headlamp, the Tigor gets a set of projectors. The best bit: you can control the air-conditioning through the touchscreen. Touchscreen Infotainment SystemInstead of an LCD screen with a dot matrix display, the Tigor features a user-friendly 5-inch touchscreen display for the music system. The differences, big and small, help the Tigor carve out its own little niche. That said, we wish the Tigor got the cool-looking shark-fin antenna from the Geneva Edition. 2. 6. This is left uncovered in the Tiago, which means there's plastic instead. As opposed to prominent triangular detailing on the Tiago's seats, the ones on the Tigor feature a slightly sober dotted print. We wish Tata would've carried over the same 15-inch wheels onto the diesel variant of the sedan, but that sadly isn't on the cards just as yet
